On this page you will find extra modules or utilities to add extra functionality or features to OziExplorer.
This is the program to convert image files to the OZF format, see the help in OziExplorer in the Map Related / Image Files Supported section.
"Img2Ozf" download and technical information
This utility will merge maps that you select and create a new map in the projection and scale of your choice. The created map is a mosaic of the maps used.

To use the MrSID image format this dll is required.
(This file is now automatically installed with new installations and therefore is generally not required).
This dll file should be placed in the folder where the OziExplorer program was installed. It needs to be with the "oziexp.exe" program file.
NOTE - The MrSid dll file will not work with version 3.90.3a (or earlier) of OziExplorer, it will only work with release version 3.95 (or later) and development versions 3.90.3b (or later).
Using MrSID Image Files
These files are required to use the following Maptech maps and charts
Maptech BSB Version 4 and 5 charts
Maptech RML or PCX charts (.RML or .HDR files)
Maptech Terrain Navigator maps (.024, .100, .250 files)
Maptech Aeronautical charts (.AER files)
Note - you do not require these Dll's for version 3 or older BSB charts.

Using BSB Version 4 Charts
If you only want to use Maptech PCX and RML Charts then these files are all you need, these files are also included in the main download above but this set of files is a much smaller download.
maptechpcx.zip Unzip into the folder where OziExplorer is installed

The extra files which are required to read the ECW compressed images are here ecwdll.zip Unzip into the Windows folder (windows or winnt).
If you already have other software that uses ECW you may already have these dll's in the windows folder so there is no need to download them again.

The PNG (Portable Network Graphics) format is a highly compressed format which can give similar compression to GIF. To use this format you need to have this dll LPNG.DLL. Put the dll in the Oziexplorer directory.
To use the Kompass maps format this dll is required.
This dll file should be placed in the folder where the OziExplorer program was installed. It needs to be with the "oziexp.exe" program file.
NOTE - Kompass map support is only provided from OziExplorer version 3.95.4g and later.
Using Kompass Maps
Release 1 - if you cannot read the Australian AUSLIG 1:250,000 raster maps (Release 1) supplied on CD in TIF format, you need to also download this file to provide this support. Download auslig.zip - unzip this file into the same folder as the program file (usually the OziExplorer folder).
Release 2 and 3 - For reading the new RASTER 250K files (Release 2 and 3) in ECW format you need version 3.85.4 of OziExplorer (or later) and also the ECW support files from the Optional Extras page. (These support files are automatically installed with new downloads).
To use the Magellan POI manager you need this set of symbols dsymbols.zip Unzip into a folder called Dsymbols which you need to create under and attached to the folder where OziExplorer is installed. You can also make your own symbols and simply add them into the folder as well, use one of the other symbols as a template.
To use the MGRS grid you need this dll
This is an example of a user defined moving map pointer - a glider
drawing, place it in the folder where OziExplorer is installed. On the Moving map tab in
OziExplorer configuration select User 1 as the pointer.

A few maps to use as Index Maps (examples only). A small World Map, an Australian Map and a Canada Map. Run the self-extracting exe file and put the maps into a folder called Index Maps under the folder where OziExplorer is installed.
World Cities Names database for use with Names Search feature in OziExplorer. Run the self-extracting exe file and put the database files into a folder called Name Search under the folder where OziExplorer is installed.
