OziExplorerCE Tutorial
Configuration
It is important to configure the location where you intend to store your maps (Map File Path) and data (Data File Path). Up to 6 map file paths can be configured. The search for a map is recursive, all sub folders to the paths will also be searched.
On the Program Menubar press the menu button to display the main menu, press the "Config" button to display the configuration menu and press the "Map/Data Folders" button to display the dialog.
Changing the Map File Path
You will see Path 1 (the top one) has the default location already configured. It is recommended you configure Path 1 to the location where you would mostly open a map from. (NOTE: During moving map operation all 6 paths are searched for the best map).
Click on the button for path 1 (the top one).
On the "Get Path" dialog, double click on the folder or storage card in the list to navigate to the storage location you require. (Drag the scroll bar on the right side if necessary to view the complete list). As you double click on the item it will be entered into the box labeled "Path" on the top of the dialog (For example : "\SD Card\Maps").
Once the path where you have stored your maps is displayed in the Path box, click the ok button on the top right of the dialog to save the settings and close the "Get Path" dialog.
Repeat the same process for any other map storage locations using one of the other 6 path options.
If ticked as "Active" these paths (and a recursive search of sub folders) will always be searched during a search for another map.
This is a critical setting, unless this is set correctly maps will not be found.
It is recommended the .map file and the map image be stored in the same folder.
Changing the Data File Path
To configure the data file path continue below, otherwise press the ok button on the top right of the Map & Data File dialog to save the settings and close the dialog.
The data file path is the folder where data files (waypoint, track and route files) are stored. This is the default path used when opening and saving data files (waypoints, tracks etc). Any files which OziExplorer automatically saves are placed in this folder.
Click on the button on the right of the Date File Path.
On the "Get Path" dialog, double click on the folder or storage card in the list to navigate to the folder where you want your data files to be stored.
Once the path where you have stored your maps is displayed in the Path box, click the ok button on the top right of the dialog to save the settings and close the "Get Path" dialog.
Press the ok button on the top right of the Map & Data File dialog to save the settings and close the dialog.
