Working with the GPS - Upload / Download
Once the configuration of both the GPS and OziExplorer are done so that they can communicate with each other, provided your GPS has the ability, you can upload/download data from the GPS.
After configuration, the GPS menu will change to the make of GPS you have selected and this changes the Menu options on the GPS menu to suit your GPS.

You will then be instructed that this operation will delete all the waypoints currently on the map. Press the OK button and all the waypoints will be downloaded from the GPS. However you will not see them plotted on the Demo Map as this map is positioned in Australia, open the World map before you download and they should plot on it. (On the World map the waypoints will most likely plot on top of each other if they are all located in the same local area.)
Those that will be visible on the map are automatically plotted. Even if they are not displayed on the map they are still kept in memory and will be saved when the waypoint file is saved.
In many cases you will want to delete the waypoints or events which do not appear on the map.

Some Garmins connect as mass storage device / drive and store data in GPX files. In this case there may be a menu option to Delete Files from GPS. Selecting this menu will show a list of files on the GPS. Select files to delete.
This only applies to Lowrance/Eagle GPS Receivers. Garmins and Magellans have the ability to delete waypoints from their own menus in the GPS.
On the Lowrance menu select the option Delete "Unreserved" Waypoints from GPS.
On the Lowrance menu select the option Delete "Reserved" Waypoints from GPS.
The "Reserved" Waypoint number range can be specified in the configuration options.
Deleting Events within the GPS
Only applies to Lowrance/Eagles.
Before Uploading Events to the GPS you may need to manually delete the Events from the GPS using the Delete Icons menu option. This is because if the GPS has more events than you are uploading the extras will become active the next time you restart the GPS.
